Default New Puppy

We picked up our first puppy 5 days ago as a Christmas present to my Fiance. She had been wanting a yorkie for about a year now. He is now 14 weeks old.

A few issues he needs to get over.

He doesn't fear heights he will try to jump off anything. So we cant have him on the bed or on the couch. How can we stop this?

He thinks his pee pads are blankets/ toys. We have a play pen setup with his Crate/ Bed inside and pads covering the floor. Some how he will manage to hold it all night and the second he comes out he will go.

Also he doesn't seem to mind the car at all. But we had to do a little traveling to my Fiance's Parents on Christmas Eve/ Day. However he cried anytime it was in the dark. We had to keep a car light on for the entire hour 1/2 drive to keep him calm. Is this normal?

And we are trying to switch him to Fromms puppy food. However he loves it so much he picks through his food and will only eat the Fromms over the Purina which he was on. Is it ok to increase the amount of Fromms since he is not eating the old food since his first taste? And it is not messing up his stomach?
