Milo had this done at about the same age. I think it was harder for me than him. He stayed in the hospital overnight and came home the next day. I would suggest you have someone go with you to pick your pup up after surgery, I made the mistake on going by myself and was very distracted making sure he was OK. When we got home for the first few nights I slept on a mattress on the floor as I was afraid he would try to jump on something. They are pretty resilient he was up and walking the next day. The best advice I can give you is be prepared for the shaved leg and do not be surprised if when they first start to walk the only use three legs. Milo did not.need PT afterwards when we went in for his followup the Dr. Said he was rehabbing himself. Good luck, if you have any question I'd be more than happy to answer.
