I agree with this. Giving a puppy to anyone in my family as a gift would be ideal for them. My kids have grown up around dogs and have their own that they are dedicated to. They know what a commitment it is! And I wouldn't mind getting one for Christmas myself, if I had more than 2 hands. Rory and Dallas are okay with me using one hand for each of them, but they would draw the line at having to share me with a 3rd yorkie. But to just randomly give a puppy to someone that you aren't positive is ready for the commitment.... No, that's setting the puppy up for a very hard life.
