I have 9 grandchildren ranging from ages 2 to 10 years. They have always been around my yorkies and from day 1, are told how fragile they are! My yorkies are small...one is exactly 3 lbs. Nobody is allowed to pick her up! I let them hold her only if they are right beside me and sitting. Teach by example......the kids see how careful I am with them and they follow what they see!
