I think its all in how your kids behave and act. I think as long as you tell your children not to pick them up, to be very careful with him or her, and listen to what you tell them to do when it comes to the dog you will be fine. My fiancee has a three year old niece who loves my girls so much. We have taught her though that she has to be sitting down to hold them and we never leave them alone with her and are always keeping an eye on them when we are around her and she does great.
