Since you drink so much coffee, a brewer with a stainless steel carafe might work better for you. The hot plate doesn't stay on but the coffee stays hot for hours after brewing. I used to have one it was a Mr. Coffee. Now that all the kids are moved out, I bought a cheap little Bella one-cup brewer for $20 on Amazon, it's purple
They also sell them at Target and Macy's You can use the little filter basket with your regular coffee, or the pods. I found the pods really cheap at TikiHutCoffee.com. They are about $7 for a box of 18. I got all the Wolfgang Puck ones, I fell in love with that coffee when we stayed at a LaQuinta Inn that had them in the room for the little coffee maker
