I think the greenies issue is one each pet owner needs to make him/herself. I saw the CNN story and when you think of the millions of greenies that are eaten every day, the number of incidents is very small.
I have always given Edie greenies. When I became aware of the potenital problems, I began to carefully monitor Edie's greenie-chewing. She only gets one per week.
There are dangers all around our little ones. I have a friend whose yorkie ended up in surgery for eating a rubber band!
Since that time, I don't let anything small on the floor. Paper clips, staples, rubber bands, anything can be dangerous, when you think about it.
