I would try to train him on the come command. Positive reinforcement will help as well as treats for a reward. As he walks with you and is getting the hang of it. Drop random treats as long as he is obiding by your commands. He will soon get the hang of it. It surely does help when you create that habit of following everywhere you go from the start. I have no problem walking Mickey without a leash on all our walks due to this method. I hope it helps. Consistency and patience are key tools in training.! |
