B/c I will tell you, my dogs (maybe b/c I actually train them) act better than those designer dogs. I have no problem with breeding purebreds. But breeding crosses deliberately....just irritates the hell out of me personally. Everytime I see one, I think of some dog sitting in the pound who is more than likely the exact same thing and doesn't cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. It just makes me sad to see that happen
I totally agree. And I think more backyard breeders will result in this. Just like in that article where people those people read that magazine and obviously decided to, "make" their own labradoodle, because I'm sure it was cheaper to buy a local lab and poodle (that wouldn't need papers) than to ship/buy a labradoodle. They could also sell the other puppies. People don't need papers to make these dogs and it makes it alot easier to find a mate, someone's poodle can mate with prettymuch every dog on the block. I even saw some LhapsoPoos some people were selling 9 weeks old and NO shots for $500.
I don't see what the high cost covers. I understand paying alot for a yorkie if it has papers, has ch. bloodlines, has genetic tests, shots, and was well taken care for. But a mutt with no shots shows that the person doesn't care about the dogs and I have no idea what the high prices are for other than purely profit (and LOTS of it) because I believe that it costs more to properly raise a full breed registered dog than a "designer dog." No offense to the designer dog lovers or breeders, this is just my opinoin.
