I might be feeding him too late at night too. He doesn't typically get his nightly meal until 8pm. I wonder if that is another reason why he doesn't sleep well. I don't usually go to bed until 11 or 12, but maybe that's not enough time for him to digest and go potty.

I think the biggest issue is that I cave in whenever he wants something....and he's learned how to get me to do it. He uses going outdoors as his way to get me to get up and then he will run to the fridge or his treat shelf...or he will paw at me and make noises until he annoys me enough to do it. Thank goodness Ricky isn't quite as smart as he is!! LOL!!

Around here their last meal is given between 6:30-7pm and up by 8pm. I would suggest trying to give them their last meal a little earlier and see if that helps !
I know how hard it can be but you have to be strong enough to say NO. It will be beneficial to both you and him. You'll both get more sleep. I also wonder if since he is up most of the night if he has his day/nights mixed up? I know my dogs will sleep for hours on end but maybe with your pup he is sleeping too much during the day because he is worn out from the restless sleep pattern during the night. Do you think it would help if he got more exercise and play time during the day ?
