At this point I don't care about getting the money for the vet check up I offered to give her the full refund and checks. The issue I am having is how to get her back when she is refusing and ignoring any communication.
This is where the strength of your contract and your lawyer comes in. Did you have your lawyer draw up your contract? If so, you are more confident about the strength of your conbtract. You have your lawyer communicate with her from now on, if she will not respond to YOU. Do you have it in your contract that she can NOT re-home your puppies without your approval? If so, and if you have her admission that she rehomed the male puppy IN WRITING, she has violated the contract and your lawyer can address that issue as well. I would be concerned she is "flipping" your babies....paying $850.00 for your babies, then turning around and reselling them for much more....very common especially at Christmas....get your lawyer involved....you may be able to get your babies back, but it is going to cost you. If you EVER let a baby go, that has NOT been paid in full with cash, not check, you can safely accept, in your mind, you have gotten all you are going to get on that baby. You have honest people out there that WILL come back with the rest of your money, but dont count on that! Does your local grocery store let you pay for half your groceries now, and then promise to give them the rest later? When was the last time you put gas in your car and the gas station let you pay for half a tank, with a promise to pay for the other half tank later? Bought a pair of shoes lately and they let you pay for 3/4 the amount due, and then allow you to essentially write a hot check to cover the rest, then promise to pay the remainder due later???? You are selling puppies. You have a price for those babies. You are screening your buyers.....the only thing I can think may help your process, is to establish a rapport, a relationship with your buyers BEFORE you let that baby go to them. TRUST is a door that swings both ways....if they expect you to trust them, is it out of the realm of possibility that they need to trust YOU....secure the purchase of that puppy with a deposit, and be in contact with the new owners for weeks before they pick their puppy up. We just do the best we can do, dealing with people....and the fact that some people lie and are determined to essentially "shop lift" and outright steal puppies by any means, is a fact and all you can do is try to prevent it from happening to YOU. Good luck in this ordeal....praying for a positive outcome for you and your babies.
