I bought a travel carrier for Barney when he was around 3 months old. It was a nylon bag that he could stand up and turn around in. I called it his sleeping bag. At bed time, I put him in that beside me on the bed. I was afraid he would jump out of bed at the time. After a few weeks, he knew bed was for sleeping. He now curls up in a ball beside me on the bed every night. Yes, the first 5 minutes are wild man crazy time when he digs, nips, and burrows. But after he settles, he sleeps all night and pretty much has since he was a puppy.
