For as long as I can remember my 5-year old yorkie Oliver has made a coughing sound when he gets excited—usually on walks or when we're playing. We've always guessed that it's just a reverse sneeze.
Last night, after a particularly long play session with his grandfather (!), he started snoring in bed. It's the first time he's ever done that, and for the last 18 hours he's been making a noise somewhat regularly that sounds kind of like a dry cough.
