That's rough trying to protect without being restrictive or punitive. Re: her age, though, I've had a number of cats and the first 12-18 months have consistently been the crazy ones. One was so "wired" that I didn't believe he'd live to be a year old--that he'd end up getting himself killed somehow.
But he ended up being the smartest, most "helpful" of our household for thirteen of his fourteen years. (He helped raise other animals in the house.) So, yes, there is hope for your young lady to calm down as she matures.

Hope your baby's scratches heal well and quickly and that they learned from the accidentally overly rough play.
