We have some pretty cold winters but I have never needed a hat for Gracie. When the weather is very bad I either just keep her inside or only take her out for short periods of time. Letting her ear fur grow a little longer during the cold months seems to be enough for her.
I have seen some of the cutest hats on etsy.com that have slits for upright ears to stick out. They are mainly for show but they are really darling to look at.
