The really good thing about surrendering to a good reputable rescue is that besides taking care of her medical needs they are able to check out perspective new owners in a way that most individual owners would not.
Most pet owners would not feel comfortable asking the personal questions that a good rescue would and individuals certainly do not do the kind of background check that a rescue would.
When a person comes to your house to possibly give your dog a new home they always seem nice but there usually is just no way for you to know for sure just what kind of people they are, their level of knowledge about pets, or how financially able they are to support your pup. A rescue can check into the kind of things you could not. Most even make home visits to make sure the home is suitable. They will check vet records of their previous pets to make sure they were well taken care of.
If I ever had to make the difficult decision to do what you have to do I would want a good reputable rescue's aid if I did not have a family member that could help me. I hope things work out for you and your little one. Puppy mill owners are the worst. I hope your little girl gets a great new home. |
