Angel eyes uses an anitbiotic called tylan. Once you stop it, the staining comes back. The red stains are caused by red yeast, the yeast has to be addressed. It can be a number of things, allergies, teething, fleas, tear duct problem or some sort of structural damage to the eye.
I would cut off all the hair affected by the red yeast (as it can spread) w/blunt nosed scissors & keep the eyes dry. Constant tearing & wetness is a bacterial ground for yeast to thrive. I use baby terry cloths to wipe their eye area couple of x's a day. Growing the hair between the eyes also helps bc it will not poke the eye & cause tearing.
I also noticed that certain food (kibble) will make the staining &/or eye goober worse. I did a food sensitivity test for Turbo & found out that he's intolerant of chicken. If you've been feeding chicken for the most of her life, I suggest switching proteins to something she's never had. Continue w/the probiotics, as that kills the yeast. I've read that it can take up to 6 months for the probiotics to fully work, esp if there were extensive antibiotic usage...so no, angel eyes will not be a good & safe product to use.

Can you share any recommendations for a good probiotic??
