Cry Gidget is injured!

Well I have not been on for a little while because last night gidget fell off our porch and hurt herself real bad. We are not sure exactly what happened, we put her and Gizmo out to potty and when I came back in to get my coat and went back out (like two minute period) she was lying on the ground limp. There was a little blood coming from her mouth and nose, and she was gasping for air. I was horrified! I didn't know what to do! I just grabbed her and ran to the van and took her to the ER vet. I was just sure that she was not going to make it there. I got her there at 5:40 and the clinic didn't open til 6. But I guess there was an angel watching out for us. Because I hadn't been there for a minute when the technition came pulling into the parking lot. I jumped out and begged her to help me! Tears were just streaming down my face! She let me in and checked some vitals. By this time the bleeding had stopped and she was still breathing, the vet came in a few minutes later and she took her to x-ray and came and told me that she didn't have any broken bones. But she was in shock. So they did some blood work and that came back ok. The only thing that was a little off was her liver test. So she said that she could possibly have a liver shunt . I don't know much about that. But they did another test on that and it came back fine. So she said that it was up to me wether or not I want to get the blood test to test for the shunt. But they said that it would take a few weeks to come back. I think I may go ahead and get that done later on when she is better. But they kept her through the night and she was eating and drinking for them. The vet made her a little neck brace because she seems to be having some trouble holding up her head. They are not sure, but they think she may have an injury to her neck that just didn't show up on her tests. So they said that it is improving. But they just want to keep it stable for a few more hours. I have to take her back to my regular vet this afternoon for a follow up. My poor little girl! We have only had her for a week today. And she has gone through this already! I am just so happy that she made it through this. God Bless my little girl, and please say a prayer for her quick recovery.
