I would be careful with any antacid long term. I'm speaking from my own history as I am a paraplegic , but over time it started causing really bad absorption problems, where my body did not absorb calcium properly, which led to high potassium, which if I did not have bloodwork done every 3 months and found out, would have shortly stopped my heart.

I myself would maybe try a sensitive stomach food, as well as leaving him kibble o snack on at night while you are asleep. Gizmo happens to be one of those late night snackers as well :-)
