Is this just a couple drops of blood or large amounts?
It is too late to get insurance for this issue because it is now preexisting. Please don't get hooked into Banfield.
There is a long list of possibilities. The ER vet is right on blood and xrays. However, $1200 for a small blood panel and two xray views is crazy. Did they break down the estimate for you and offer to do one thing at a time?
Since we don't know what it is, waiting isn't good. Sid the vet give you an idea of how he looked physically, etc.?
