I had Callie spayed at 9 months before he first heat to lower the risk of mammary cancer. She still occasionally humps but she does it when she is mad lol. Humping doesn't mean they are going into heat but if she is going into heat I think you have to wait 6 weeks to get her spayed because it becomes more dangerous. At 6 months old the vet can still pull her baby teeth that she has not yet lost.
