Lynn, I have found that the metal ones are murder on hard floors. They scratch them and have been known to rust even though they arent supposed to. I'd rather use the metal one's outdoors. The plastic one's for small kids are so nice cause they are light weight and when i clean them, i just take them outside and spray them down with lysol , let them soak and hose them down. no rusting ever. good luck!
