A dog that has not eaten for two days needs to see the vet. As your dog ages these problems tend to worsen. If your vet is doing a trial and error type of system I would look for another vet. Testing can be expensive but it is better to have the appropriate tests done and get it over with than to play around with an unknown problem for years and never find an answer.
Bloody stools do indicate a sever irritation of the digestive tract. If you don't have anyone slipping your dog treats or foods she should not have then she is probably able to become stabilized for a time but after a while her ability to tolerate the problem is just overwhelmed. As she ages this ability to tolerate the problem gets diminished. I hope you can find a good vet that will help you to pinpoint exactly what the problem is and how to deal with it. |
