And again, you really need to go to the breeder's house, and see the mama and the stud. |
I had a friend that was breeding Yorkies....small scale....she had 2 females and one stud at her home....looooooong, disasterous story cut short.....she was a broker, went and bought puppies anywhere from Ok and Arkansas and La....then called them from "her own breeding dogs", which she touted to anyone that bought "her" litters, as the dams and sire of the litters. So, it takes soooooooo much more than a simple home visit to determine the worthyness of a breeder. There MUST be a relationship developed between breeder and buyer....a trust bond is forged.....anyone can lie about dams and sires of the litter.....it is done a million times a day......a buyer had better have more invested in the purchase of their new puppy, than a home visit and seeing two dogs that someone claims are the dam and sire, on site, so that they are "legit". Sooooo much weight is put on these "home visits"......buyer had better beware.....homes are / can be staged, dogs are trotted out and called all kinds of things they are not....you must be dealing with a responsible, ethical person, and if you have that, you can buy a puppy from that person, sight unseen, and do better than the person that made house visits, saw the "dam and sire" of the litter, and ended up with a pig in a poke.
