We had a Beagle that would shake really badly every time I cleaned the stove. I don't know what it reminded him of but it must have been something really bad. My little guy, Skeeter, goes and hides behind the toilet when we broil anything. DH once dropped the broiler pan (which was on fire) and it scared my baby to death.
So maybe it is a reaction to the stove. Good luck with it.
