I just wanted a girl no certain reason I don't think. My baby Callie could not be more attached to me she is ALWAYS at my feet, following me around, gets upset if I'm upset, and so on. She also shuts down completely when I am gone even though she is never left alone. I do notice with every female we have had over the years mostly mixes they have a bit of attitude and I love it
I think it depends on the dog not there gender.
