This is just my opinion, it depends on the training and the amount of time you put into it. My boy dog was a marker when he first came home. His breeder allowed it, masking the problem with a belly band. I put my all into training him not to, which included having him fixed. He learned to not mark inside, BUT I let him mark on everything outside during our walks. I've also seen A LOT of girl dogs mark too, to the point where they also lift their legs. Some pups just have that drive more than others.

PS it's not a silly question. I wouldn't want to live in a smelly house either.
