Dogs do not go through menopause, m'dear. In fact, my Higgins mother was TEN YEARS old, which is, in my opinion, waaaaay too old to breed a dog, but that's another story......
I showed English Setters in another lifetime, and they couldn't be spayed for the show ring. But as soon as they were "retired" from the show ring, I had them spayed! It was at about six years old, as I recall.
It's not too late to have your little one spayed! You will have to wait until this heat is over, however. You and she....and little Pancho.....will be glad if you have her spayed, too! |
