Are you legally allowed to get the dog back if the person doesn't follow the contract? Have you thought about calling a lawyer and having the lawyer contact her?? Not sure if that would help or scare her away though....

I would be worried that the person didn't want you at the house....sort of wonder what she's hiding?? Is she a BYB?? A puppy mill?? Is she a puppy broker etc etc??

If it were me and she kept jerking me around, I'd show up at her house unannounced...and I wouldn't be doing it alone. I'd have someone or a few someone's with me just so nothing would happen. If you could bring a cop or a an animal control or SPCA officer with you, that would be the best. Since you have a contract with her and she's in violation of it, maybe they would go with you. Heck, due to the set of circumstances with you feeling that your dog is in danger, I'd think the SPCA would want to come with you just to make sure the dog is ok. I'd think the person would be more willing to play ball if a cop of the SPCA is behind you, breathing down their neck. It sounds like whatever this person is doing, it's sketchy, so I'd think the last thing they'd want to do is bring attention to themselves by causing problems in front of the SPCA or the cops.

It sounds like you are going to have to give her all of her money back to get your pup back....but I wouldn't do it until you have the dog in your hands. I have to wonder if she's a breeder or plans on selling her to a breeder since she's failed to spay your little girl. The fact that she hasn't spayed your pup...oh yea, and has other dogs, is very concerning to say the least.

Even though you think you know people...they can fool ya. I know some really nice people that make HORRIBLE pet owners....some of them even talk about how much their animal means to them, yet they don't even provide basic care for it. This is one of the reasons why I don't think I could breed. I think it's fairly safe to say that most of us here provide above average care for our pets...and I would expect someone else to take care of their pup and have it be as important to them and their family as my pets are to me. Anything less would be sub-standard care in my eyes and I would be doing the same as you and would be asking for my baby back.
