You are not going avoid health issues with a mixed breed, there is not such thing as hybrid vigour by mixing breeds in dogs. Hybrid vigour is usually from mixing two species that will breed such as the horse and the donkey.
Yorkies can genetically carry things like liver shunt for example. Liver shunt is even more common in Maltese. Breed a yorkie and maltese and you have a really high chance of issues. Also mixed breed breeders are not going to be able to get their Yorkie, Maltese or poodle for example from a reputable breeder as a reputable breeder will never sell to someone who has the intent to produce mutts.
As a dog groomer I have seen so many health and behaviour issues in mixed breeds of all sorts. |
