Well Thank God its not that I have bad breath or BO that is sending my Sydnee into backing up when I reach for her. I was beginning to think maybe I had personal hygiene issues. She will do everything really good, except the come and when I go to pick her up. Other than that she has me trained really well. So thanks for the advice

Try this and see if it works better for Jack. First, don't lean over him. If you have to, bend down on your knee to get closer to his level before you pet him. Also, don't reach over his head to pet him. Come from the side and scratch your dog's ear before you move your hand over to his head.
