Has it even had any shots? I ask that only bc when I got Uni my "breeder" said she had her shots already and that I only needed to get her rabies shot at 6 months. Of course, stupid me, I believed her. |
I am not disagreeing that it could happen, but some of the posts (not yours) were just totally over-dramatic lol. "WHY.... OH the horror?!?" type of vibe. Irregardless of size, I would do the same thing. My dog would still have to go outside in the rain and cold, esp. being in Maryland... it can be freezing in the winter months. I know plenty of little dogs <8lbs who fair just fine... I just don't necessarily think this is a size issue. A 80lb puppy can also get very sick and die. Jackson is still a "small dog", and at that age was about 6lbs. But the odds all around if you're being precautious? I just don't think it's evil to expect a pup to go out in the rain or cold.

Yorkies are pretty durable dogs. He doesn't care what the weather is like.
I walk my poor little dog who gets wet feet and cold in the rain and he loves it. We walk in the rain because well... we're Oregonians. [insert cheesy grin here]
I think it's about common sense - is your dog shivering? Are you walking briskly enough to keep you both warm?
In regard to the OP - my gut instinct I he's too young yet and you should wait until he's fully immunized.
But have fun walking when he's ready - it's good for them and a joy! |
Yes pretty much that ^^
