Winston was being trained to go potty outdoors at 8 weeks, yes I know too early to be away from his mom, and yes it rains in Illinois. Never hurt him, he was a fast learner, if the weather isn't so nice we go out he does his business and we go in. Your little one will be fine if that's what you're planning on doing. Not sure that I would want to take a long walk in the cold rain, so I would never take him. That doesn't even make sense.
