I appreciate all of your replies and advice! Keep them coming! I can also tolerate constructive criticism, so yell at me if you need to! I am fine with that as well, just help me answer my questions
I wanted to let you all know the answers to a couple of questions you have asked me.
1. Did I plan on breeding since I had an intact male and female. The answer to that is yes, I did eventually plan on breeding them. My male is currently a "stud" for a few breeder friends of mine that are experienced breeders. (friends of my grandmas) and i have considered letting my female have a litter, I was just wanting her to mature a little more first. I have asked all of my friends the same questions I am asking you all, but I just want to hear the answers from more than a few people...I am nervous!
2. I do know of all litters going back on their pedigree for the last 6 generations. As I said my Grandma used to breed, and a friend of hers took over, and they keep very precise records. My male has fathered 6 litters so far himself, and none if the females have had any problems or emergencies. The worst case that has happened was one of his litters was 5 pups, and 1 was born still born.
3. The first day of her cycle was September 30, the one and only time they tied was on October 13th. Is that considered late?
4. I called my vet this morning and ask why they didn't offer an emergency spay. I guess my vet doesn't believe in doing them, so I have an appointment with a vat who will do them this Friday. She is going to examine her and we are going to talk about our options. She just seems to have gotten fat so fast, from every thing else I have read it says she shouldn't even really be showing yet, her belly size is what is concerning me.
