Hi I have a question for anybody who can help at all. It is not specifically related to breeding but in another way it is. I had a litter born on January 1 2013. The litter had 4 puppies in it. I raised them like I normally would and they became part of my family until I found them good families of their own to go to. I had advertised them on puppyfind when they were 12 weeks old. In the long run they all went to homes that I felt were good for them. Anyway I had a woman contact me from NY I won't mention her name on here but if anyone has any advice I could private message them her information. Anyway she was interested in the only boy from the litter. I was emailing her back and forth and she seemed nice and a good fit, a stay at home mom with 2 kids that weren't really young so I knew the puppy would be safe. Anyway I sent her a questionnaire form and she filled it out and I felt that she was good to have one of my puppies. We met half way and we talked for a little while and then she took her puppy. I also had along his sister because they loved to play with each other and she was the only one left out of the litter the rest already had gone to their new homes. But she also fell in love with his sister but I said she was already going to a new home in a few weeks. She asked me to keep her in mind if the other buyer would back out that she would definitely take her. She even offered me more money than I was asking for them which I thought was a little odd. In the long run the woman that I had sold the little girl to had to give her back to me after a few months because she was getting a divorce and was forced to get an apartment and they didn't allow pets so I took her back. I was holding on to her for a little bit during the summer. During this time I was also in the process of moving to a new house but the house I was getting was not ready yet so I was staying with a family member at her apartment and this little female was a barker. So I asked my sister to hold on to her until the house was ready. In the meantime I contacted the person who purchased her brother and was interested in her and she said she would take her. I told her I would contact her when I was free because I told her I was in the process of moving and working 2 jobs. But this lady do not understand. She would call me at least 4-5 times a day along with text messages asking when she could get the dog constantly. I finally set up a date on Labor day to meet her. I also asked her to bring along her brother so I could see how he was doing and how him and his sister would react like if they would remember each other. Well when I met her she didn't have her brother along she said he was with her mother in DE and was coming back in about 2 days. Now this is where the issue begins with this woman. The puppy was $850 so she gave me 500 cash and 350 in check because of the holiday she said she couldn't take any more money out of her ATM. I usually don't like to take checks but I understood with the holiday so I accepted it. About 4 hours after we met she text me and said that she gave me the wrong check she grabbed the wrong checkbook she said there was no money in the account. I told her to send me a new check the next day. Well after that she started what I think was complaining even though she said she was just asking questions. She started about her teeth saying they were crooked and she was missing some which I told her is normal because her adult teeth were beginning to come in. She said she wanted to get her teeth checked for she sent me the payment. So then I started to get mad. Here she didn't send the new check out until 5 days after she got the puppy and she also sent it to my old address even though I gave her my new address before. During that time I was getting very frustrated with her. She would text me complaining about the dog like her teeth, that she didn't like men, she bit her son, she didn't like small children and would bark at them, she stole her son's sandwich off her table and that she had matts in her hair so she cut most of her hair off. This dog was fine when she was with me and my sister except she did like to bark which I informed her of and she said she was willing to work with her. During that time I had also asked on numerous occasions to see a picture of her brother because she would always send me pictures of the female. Now she said that the male lives with her mother in FL and travels with her to different states between seasons and also between her sisters. So right there she lied to me saying she had him when she didn't. The whole situation escalated so much that I just wanted her back because I had also not yet received her other check. It took me 30 days to receive the new check because I went to the bank and they confirmed that the check she had originally gave me was a bad check. She agreed to give her back as long as she got her payment back. I said I would give the money back except I would take out a portion to pay to take her to the vet to get checked because I never believed she was vet checked when she got her. She said all she would allow is 50 for the vet because she said she was vet checked. Anyway the whole story continues her complaining and constantly lying and saying she would give her back and then when I would arrange a time she would lie and make excuses not to meet up. I finally called her vet to check in with her to see if she was checked because she took her once and she had a skin infection and was supposed to be rechecked which I discovered she never was even though she lied to me and said she was. I also found out the last time her brother was seen was in April and also that she has other dogs which I was never informed of she lied to me and said she had no dogs. So I have a feeling that she sold her brother which is why I never receive pics of him and I get tons of pics of the female. She also has not followed the contract she signed for her. She has not provided me that she was checked when she got there, did not spay her, and changed her food because she said she refused to touch it which was a lie because she always ate it for weeks and also took her off her vitamins because she said her vet said she didn't need them. Sorry for the long story but I wanted to explain everything. Has anyone ever experienced anything similar to this? Do you have any suggestions on what to do? I tried voluntarily but she lies and makes up excuses. I don't want to have to do a magistrate or anything. I was only a hobby breeder with 3 breeding females but I am no longer breeding and am rehoming my breeders. I am tired of her lies and don't know what else I can do. I fear that if she keeps her she could be sold to someone else and I feel she is also not getting the proper vet care because she took her to the vet the same day I called and said she was not rechecked so I think she felt guilty and knew she lied. I am just want the best life for her. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it or is this situation a lost cause?
