Bordetella vaccine via nasal drops is a live vaccine, as opposed to the injection.....it seems there are more instances of pups coming down with cases of kennel cough after receiving the nasal drop vaccine....It has been MY personal experience with several of my own dogs, that they not only "caught" kennel cough following the nasal vaccine, it took 4 of those dogs well over 3 months to eventually begin to recover.....since that time, I never gave the nasal vaccine again, and eventually stopped the injectable vaccine when I stopped taking my dogs to places that demanded they have this. Keep your baby on the antibiotics....if there is ANY suggestion that your pup may still have a touch of the disease/cough after the antibiotics are finished, she needs to continue on antibiotics. Watch her closely for her getting worse in spite of the antibiotics....you dont want to end up with pneumonia from this, and they may need to add another antibiotic or even change what she is getting....be diligent with giving your antbiotics....dont miss doses and dont stop too soon.... |
