We have 3 yorkies. 1 is about to turn 7 years old and it took us 3 months to potty train outside. When we got him, he was 3 months old and was not house broken, even though the breeder said he was 'paper trained.' we watched him like a hawk and took him outside every 1-3 hours, extending the time we took him out as the weeks ago by. By the end of the 3rd month, he was waiting by the door to go potty.

Last April, we got 2 baby yorkies which are brothers, and we estimate the it took a good 6 months of potty training. One was very stubborn and would sneak a pee break around the house even though he has already gone out an hour ago. The other would actually hold his pee. After 6 months, one will bug us and let us know he has to go and the other will not tell us, hold it or go sneak one around the house.

It takes a lot of time and effort and consistency to train these babies. But once they understand where they are allowed to go, you shouldn't have any more worries and issues.
