When I was a kid, my neighbor had labs and cockers. She bred her cocker spaniel and she was so excited when it threw a chocolate puppy as chocolates were VERY rare!! She docked their tails and proceeded to sell them....but she held onto the rare chocolate one.

Anyways...not too long on down the road, she found out that her puppies were lab mixes. The lab and the cocker had tied through the runs they were in...2 different fences!!! They were never out together so this is the only way it could have happened.

Needless to say...we ended up with the chocolate cockador and he was a fabulous companion and a very smart dog. You could have easily mistaken him for a purebred chocolate lab had it not beed for the docked tail!! He was also just a wee bit shorter.
