Colitis is inflammation of the colon &/or large intestine. The symptoms of colitis are mucusy poop w/bright red blood mixed in or @ the end. The mucus is the intestinal lining being expelled & bright red blood is a sign that it's coming from the large lower intestines. It can be triggered by stress or high fat foods/ certain foods or a foreign object. I'm wondering if her colon identified some bone fragments as a foreign object. The raw food I was feeding her has tiny pcs of bone, it wasn't finely ground up like other premade raw food. IDK, maybe it wasn't that @ all, I thought the stomach acids took care of all that in their stomach.
Some dogs do fine w/beef, my other 3 can tolerate it but Princess cannot. When she was living w/my aunt, she used to give her pieces of steak & she got really sick w/colitis. I guess she doesn't do well w/beef in general, even those made for dogs.
