Many, many attempts to stop the abuse of animals in these mills have been stopped not by the puppy millers themselves but by the AKC.

If AKC really was concerned about the welfare of the animals and not their pocketbook, they would employ their lawyers to work with state legislators to write and enact laws that would protect the true hobby breeder but put a stop to the suffering of the millions of dogs produced annually in puppy mills. That has not happened. Instead they continue to fight legislation that would stop the mass production and abuse of dogs in this country.

It's true, I contacted the CKC about a breeder who had registered dogs but what cross breeding. As long as she is not a member, she can register offspring of CKC purebred registered dogs, just not the mixed breed dogs.

But no they won't disallow her from registering any of her dogs as she isn't a registered breeder, only her dogs were registered. I'm sure the breeders who sold her their breeding rights are kicking themselves
