How did they diagnose your pups with IBS??

I am fairly certain that my older guy has this. We've done various blood tests and also an ultrasound. They found that his liver and pancreas had mild scaring and he also had sludge in his gall bladder, which he is on medication for....but he still has flare ups.

Usually, when he gets a stomach ache, his tummy will be audibly upset and you can hear it gurgling and he won't eat anything until the evening. Somewhere in there, the diarrhea starts as well. I know that people food, changing food and stress bring it on...but there are also times where it pops up out of the blue.

My vet prescribed the metronidazole to give to him the last time he had the problem...but I never gave it to him bc he was eating again by the time I got the medicine home. He hasn't had an episode since...but it seems like when he does, it will last, on and off, for about a week...and when he starts feeling better, he is a little piggy. He goes from eating nothing to wanting to eat everything.

I am definitely interested in and willing to home cook my pups meals if it would help with his IBS. Being that my boys are picky but love table food, they would probably love it if I cooked for them. I've always been scared to do it as i feel like people food is what got us this mess in the first place. But I would love to have a recipe that I can try that is tailored to help IBS!!
