Mary - take it from someone in rescue who has seen it *all* in terms of how dogs heal over time.
Mary - he is SO beautiful! Love his pictures, my gosh, he's just a gorgeous little baby. Give him time, and he will keep healing. Remember, he lost his 'safe place' a long time ago...it will take him time to trust that, even though you smell like his good old 'safe place', his instincts probably tell him not to trust it / feel safe yet. He's been through so much. People are the same way who've been traumatized...very tough to feel safe/secure/trust again....takes time and tender loving care.
