I wanted to also mention the possibility of a UTI. Sometimes if a dog that's completely housebroken does this, it's because they've got an infection. Just something to keep in mind and maybe do a little research on to see if you think it might be that.

My friends cat was peeing on the bed and it was a UTI...and just recently, my friends house broken dog started urinating when it was startled awake...and then he started licking his "boy parts" excessively until they were raw. Come to find out, he had a UTI.

UTI's are fairly common in dogs and cats and you'll need to take your pup in to get tested if you think she has it. If it's confirmed, they will put on antibiotics as treatment. For chronic UTI's, a change in food is often recommended. Science Diet U/D is an example of one of those prescription foods
