To me, this doesn't really sound like a pred reaction. Pred is very short acting - it has a half-life of only ONE hour, so that should tell you a lot.
I truly think you have something else going on here.
As far as the pred, btw, was he on it for allergy itching or ? If so, how is the itching going now? If he has year round itching, you may want to look at Atopica.
