A good frame to hold the pee pad would help a lot. Gracie used to "kill" the potty pad at first. I went right out and bought a good lock down potty pad frame and we no longer had that issue. The top of the frame goes right down over the pad and locks it into the frame so it won't budge.

A pup left alone for hours at a time is going to look for things to do so some safe toys that will keep that little mind busy will help, too.
