As long as your pup is eating, his sugar level shouldn't drop...did he eat b4 you left to run errands? You need to feed him small meals several x's a day. Nutri-cal is helpful if they're not eating, it will raise their blood glucose level, but it needs to be followed by food. Also handy for a hypoglycemic attack, but if they have an attack, a vet needs to be seen asap. If the dog is eating well, nutri-cal is not needed bc the food is regulating their glucose level. If nutrical is given too much or for a long period of time, it can cause diabetes, it's basically corn syrup. My vet informed me of this.
