I confess my question, What breed is this? was somewhat tongue-in-cheek.
The lady responsible for the 'rescue' is of the opinion that both parents were Yorkies. And I do put a lot of store by her judgement, both as a County Dog Warden of 20+ years of experience and as a tireless worker for the charity she founded.
I weighed her myself a couple of weeks ago at 5kg or 11 lbs, so she is 50% bigger than 'standard'. But she does slightly have geography on her side as it is only two hours drive from here to Yorkshire
I think she is all terrier, probably with some Border or Jack Russell in the mix. I recently took her to the groomers for a Border style cut.
However, irrespective of breed 'purity' both my wife and I love Bess dearly.
