Are the children used to being around small pets? Either way I would definitely invest in a portable playpen if you don't have one already
. I have a 5 year old son and believe me it comes in handy when he gets in a "wild mode". I put Rasta in the playpen(its in a different room) and my son can roughhouse with his dog until he gets tired.
