JMO ...Slicker brushes are not made for a long coated breed likeour Yorks. they are for poodles etc...they rip the hair and break it off. Use a metal uncovered pin head on a coat you want to grow for the ring or a perfect coat. Covered pin head is fine for a pet coat and you aren't concerned about a bit of breakage.
