Mary, I am so glad you are making plans to go get him. Once you get there and see how he responds to you you will know you did the right thing.
Have you made a friend that you could ask to ride along with you for company on the trip?
I know you went through a lot of pain these past 5 yrs that he has been gone but I afraid that if you don't get him the pain of "what ifs, did I do that right thing" will continue.
